Surgical Removal of Intestinal Roundworms

You know you let it go too far when your intestinal roundworm infestation gets to a stage that it requires surgical removal. The person in this video had to go under because their digestive tract was completely obstructed by the roundworms. The surgeons cut the guts open and squeezed out a bucket full of worms. But… there was MOAR! Cook your meat thoroughly before consuming it for crying out loud.

BTW, these I believe were giant roundworms known by their Latin name Ascaris Lumbricoides. They can grow up to 35cm in length and it is estimated that 1/4 of the world’s population are bearers of the parasites. The rates of infection are higher in Latin America (up to 45%) and Sub Saharan Africa (95%) though. Ascaris Lumbricoides cause a diseases called Ascariasis that can result in serious respiratory complications because the worms can chew their way up to the lungs from intestines. How’s that for yummy?

Spaghetti anyone? Oddly enough, voices of people in the video also sound Italian to me. Couldn’t be any more ironic.

Bloody intestinal tapeworms. No respect, not even for a kid. The patient in this video is mere 3 year old. The kiddo needed to have the worms removed with an emergency surgery cause them buggers wreaked serious havoc in his tummy.

Putrefied and Worms Covered Corpse Found in Guerrero, Mexico

A corpse of a man in an advanced state of putrefaction covered in maggoty worms was found near a road between La Providencia and Ahuatepec Pueblo, not far from Tlapa in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. Guerrero is the state where Acapulco, the world’s execution capital is located.

The corpse was first found by a child from Ahuatepec Ejido who was in the brush collecting firewood. The child noticed a pair of human feet sticking out of a plastic wrap and told his friends about the find, but nobody believed him because he was little. He did not report the find to the police for fear that he could be suspected of having had something to do with it. A few days later, the corpse was spotted by a man who was walking around with his son and daughter.

The victim is an unidentified male between 30 and 35 years of age. He was executed by a shot in the head and thrown down a steep hill from a nearby road. He had two plastic bags over his head. Authorities estimate that he had been rotting there for 8 days before he was found. Guerrero – Mexican state to stay the fuck out of, unless an idea of being kidnapped, tortured and executed appeals to you.

Hydatid Cyst Removed from Skull of Woman in Peshawar, Pakistan

Hydatid disease (Echinococcosis) is a parasitic disease that affects mammals, including humans. Cystic echinococcosis (also known as unilocular echinococcosis or hydatid cyst), is caused by Echinococcus Granulosus, a type of tapeworm often called Dog Tapeworm. The worm’s eggs usually make it to the human’s digestive system through contact with dog feces and ingestion of infected food. Hatched larvae travel through the blood vessels and form hydatid cysts that can grow to be the size of a basketball and resemble a balloon. Hydatid cysts occur in organs, not in the tissue under the skin.

Woman in this video had a huge hydatid cyst grow in her brain. Surgeons had to open her skull and flush the cyst out. A big soft balloon popped out. The operation was performed in a hospital in Peshawar, Pakistan. Wash your hands before eating if you play in areas where dogs or other mammals poop. 8 Inches Long Loa Loa Worm Removed from Eye of Patient in India

Eye surgeon in this video claims that this is the longest Loa Loa worm that’s been removed from an eye of a human patient and filmed on camera ever. At 8 inches, the worm was certainly something to have inside the eyeball.

The video is 11 minutes long but only the first 3 and a half minutes are the footage of the eye surgery. The rest is commentary by Dr. Ashley Thomas Jacob from Mulamoottil Eye Hospital in India who explains what a Loa Loa worm is, how it gets transferred to a human body and how the transmission can be prevented.

The doc says Loa Loa worms are indigenous to West Africa but its carriers sometimes make it to other parts of the world in shipping containers. He calls the carriers mangrove flies, which I believe are what is more commonly known as deer flies – large biting insects that lacerate the skin and lap up blood from the wound, instead of sucking it out like mosquitoes. The eggs are introduced into the bloodstream from the fly’s saliva.

As the worm hatches and develops, it can migrate to various parts of the body, most commonly to the eye, lungs or heart.

Parasitic Worm Removed from Eyelid of Woman

Parasites are gross. They settle inside your body and chew you from within. Though some attach to you from the outside and leech on you that way. Either way, they’re disgusting?

We’ve just recently had a video of a worm being surgically removed from an eyeball of a patient in India. Here’s another video of a worm being surgically removed from an eyelid of a woman. I find having a worm inside your eyeball more frightening, cause even as the doctor explained later in the other video, the worm in the eyeball could chew its way into the iris and cause permanent blindness. So eyelid seems less severe but still, having that long, coiling thing inside there must be awfully freaky. Glad modern day surgeons have the means to remove those efficiently.

Woman Has Live Worm Wriggling Inside Her Eye

Remember recent video of worm removal from the eye ball with commentary by the Indian eye surgeon? He mentioned in the video that the patient was lucky because although the worm was in the eye, it was not in the retina. He also mentions that if the worm was in the retina, blindness would be a certainty because there would be no way to remove it.

Woman in this video has a live, wriggling worm inside her cornea, just on the surface of her iris (part of the eye the color of which you reference when talking about the person’s eye color). The worm is not very long, but he’s certainly in a tough spot and enjoying himself. The video doesn’t offer any clue as to whether it was removed and if the woman kept her eye sight, but I’m sure having that damned thing inside the eye could not do her nay good. Nasty parasites!

Ten minutes of nonstop botfly and Mango Worm removals? You bet. Prepare of an endless supply of parasites that live under your skin. There’s nothing more vile than shits that embed themselves inside another living organism and leech off of it from within.

I’ve always known that it’s mosquitoes that infect warm bloodied creatures with botfly eggs, but I’ve only recently learned from someone that the mature botflies capture a mosquito and glue their eggs onto it, so it can disseminate their future population without the damned fly risking getting a swat itself. The mosquito will then seek its blood meal and when it lands, the heat from the skin that the warm bloodied organisms radiate will dissolve the glue and the eggs will land on the skin, burying themselves in the pores.

Apparently that’s how it works. I can’t even express how much I hate parasites and I haven’t actually had one inside, only attached to me from the outside – long time ago it was a tick in Europe and recently a leech in Malaysia. Did you know that scientists once tested leeches in Africa years after they had fed on HIV positive people and even after years, thanks to their enzymes, levels of HIV were still incredibly high?

Man Has Eyes and Head Wounds Full of Crawling Maggots

I don’t know the background story about this video, but the visuals are pretty creepy. A man laid naked on a hospital bed has maggots crawling all over the old wounds on his head and inside his eye sockets. The eyelids are closed so it’s hard to tell if the eyeballs are still OK, but the presence of maggots doesn’t suggest anything good.

He gets his hair shaved off, although it looks like it would fall off on its own. The doc also cleans his wounds but at 2:50, when he pulls off a flap of scalp, the underlying maggot infestation shows just how badly this man is infected. The language spoken in the video sounds Chinese, or some other Asian variety.
